Monthly Reminder, November 2026

First, I would like to say Thank you, thank you, thank you! To all those who played a part in helping to make that big Blue Wave happen. I didn’t listen to any Election Day coverage on Tuesday. I used that day to catch up on my sleep. Eleven hours. Then I got up and made breakfast. Turned on my computer. And was stunned to see how well the Democrats did. Both houses! Sen. Fetterman lost his relevance. That sore loser Democrat in Michigan who endorsed the Republican challenger failed in her bid to affect the outcome of that senate race. All those hundreds of millions of dollars Musk spent trying to help Republicans win races was money down the drain. Same too for all those other billionaires who tried to help Republicans hold onto power.

I suspect Clarence Thomas might retire now. To give Trump the opportunity to push through a Supreme Court appointment before the House and Senate change hands.

One conservative New York City newspaper on their cover described the Election Day aftermath as a Blue Tsunami. So once again, let me thank everyone who helped make that happen and who helped make that possible.

But now comes the splash of cold water. Despite that big beautiful Blue Wave, it’s my job to inform you that saving the planet won’t be possible without a “deep green” Green Wave. And the only way I see that potentially happening is if I get funding. Because there are so many things we need to be doing, that no one is talking about.

Simply put, saving the planet is not going to be possible if you pin your hopes on the Democratic Party. They’re far better than Republicans. But both parties are terrible so far as saving the planet goes. In fact, I don’t like any of the political parties that are out there — so far as saving the planet goes. And that’s the truth.

Billionaire Charles Koch had it completely backwards when he stated (in 2015):  “The reason we tend to support Republicans is they’re taking us toward the cliff at only 70 miles per hour, and the Democrats are taking us 100 miles per hour.” It’s the Republicans who are much, much worse, on so many levels. But I’ll agree that overall — and especially in so far as saving the planet goes — they’re both terrible.

Charles’s billionaire brother David ran for Vice President on the Libertarian Party ticket back in 1980. And the Libertarian Party is probably even worse than the two major parties.

If you truly care about saving the planet, I’ve got the ideas, the strategies, the vision, and the thinking to help make that happen. Otherwise, the best to realistically hope for is maybe yesterday’s Election  Day results will perhaps buy us some more time, and keep the window of opportunity open just a bit longer.

Once again, for all those celebrating how well the Democratic Party did, keep in mind that while that accomplished a lot, in a sense it accomplished very little. In another two years, there will be congressional races. And senate races. And also another presidential race. The executive branch and legislative branch tend to flip back and forth.  The judicial branch is on the side of Republicans — and it might stay that way for decades. But that’s just the federal government. Many states remain under Republican Party control. So much so that even in some states where Democrats won the governor’s seat, due to balance of power, Republicans might actually still hold the advantage. So curb your enthusiasm. Celebrate, yes. But curb your enthusiasm.

Because that may actually get in the way of saving the planet. How so? Because it will make it harder for me to get funding if the people most likely to give me funding are euphoric and hopeful that now things will start get better.
